 What is a Head Shop? 🤔

Before I get started, let me introduce myself and who we are! We are "It's Just a Herb", an Online Head Shop UK. We created It's Just a Herb to sell quality, authentic smoking accessories and CBD products. Our goal is to help consumers select the right products, learn about the product and how well it will help them consume their herb or tobacco of choice.

So, what exactly is a Head Shop and what does it mean?

According to 420science, the term Head Shop comes from the phrase, "Get your head right." Its a shop for your head, and that was very evident in the early headshops. The first instances of Head Shops didn't actually sell articles of interest to smokers, they were actually shops where you could go and listen to music and "chill", very popular with young people.

Once the hippy movement started, the Head Shops moved in to a more marijuana related scene. They started selling hand-made pipes, a few rolling papers and variants of bongs.

What do headshops sell these days?

Typically, in a modern head shop, you're going to find a huge array of smoking accessories and goodies to help you consume your legal herb of choice (or tobacco if you're that way inclined), these articles include;

Headshops have been around for as long as cannabis, but they didn't always specialize in drug-related goods. Their original purpose was to provide patrons with accessories and items related specifically toward smoking marijuana or tobacco products - after all it's not just about selling you something that will get your high going! 

These days head shop shelves can still be found stocked full of bongs/rolling papers/cbd products etc., though there is also an increasing variety offering more than this basic selection nowadays; many shops now include actual drugs alongside their consumption equipment too so no matter what mood strikes us on any given day we'll find at least one thing worth taking home from our nearest quaint little shop

Is it "Head Shop" or is it "Headshop"?

To be completely honest, I don't think it matters. In this day and age, people usually refer to them as "Head Shop" (2 separate words) and the older generation (i.e me 😭) refer to them as a single word; "headshop".

But that's all just preference, I guess.
